The FOCAL retrieval algorithm is a trace gas retrieval algorithm which has been developed primarily for fast and accurate retrieval of XCO2 from NASA’s OCO-2 satellite mission. For the CHE and VERIFY products FOCAL will be further improved and global XCO2 data sets will be generated and made available. The current status of this activity will be presented.
